At its modest debut in 1985, La Fraisonnée was called La Fraisonnette. In the beginning, this family enterprise survived thanks to its abundant strawberry fields bursting with fruit. The micro climate brought about by the proximity of Lac Abitibi is very favourable to the growth of this berry. Putting our trust in nature, we let the bees pollinate as they wished and the winter take care of the plants.

In 1990, we came up with the idea to open a mini-restaurant. The rustic appeal of this establishment amongst the surrounding greenery made it a very relaxing place for its clients. We served only delicious strawberry desserts, such as crepes with strawberries, milkshakes, and our popular strawberries with chocolate sauce.

Throughout 1993, using our mom's stove, we developed a jam recipe which would tour the province of Quebec a few years later. At first, our line of jam products included only strawberry and raspberry. Our production capacity did not exceed a dozen cases per day and we personally delivered the product to local grocery stores.

Once we reached new markets, we needed to construct a new building which allowed us to increase the volume of our production.

Throughout the years, we have created new recipes and even modified a few existing ones to respond to the requests of our loyal followers. We have done the same with our large choice of pie fillings used by numerous bakeries and pastry shops throughout our beautiful province.

Today, La Fraisonnée involves the whole family of its president and founder, Raymond Boudreault, who built this promising business, assisted by his wife, Germaine LaVerdière, who takes care of the administration. Their three sons are also involved. Jean-Soleil takes care of the agricultural aspects of the company which we have taken up again after a break of several years. Sacha attends to the administrative and computer side of the business. Finally, Thomas represents and positions our products on the shelves of grocery stores in the Abitibi region.

This has been an overview of La Fraisonnée, a company specializing in the confection of jams, sometimes classic and sometimes bold. For all those who have written to us and encouraged us, we would like to thank you. But what you must remember is that La Fraisonnée graciously accompanies you every morning.
